Abstract: A new oligospirostanoside (Filicinin-C) has been isolated and characterised by chemical as well as spectral studies from ethanolic extract of air dried and powdered cladodes of Asparagus filicinus Buch-Ham as: 3-O-[{β-D-galactopyranosyl (1→4)} {β-D-xylopyranosyl (1→6)}-β-D-glucopyranosyl (1→4) -β-D-galactopyranosyl (1→4)-β-D-galactopyranosyl (25S)-5β-spirostan-3β-ol.
