Author(s): Vandana Shastri and Jitendra Kumar Gupta
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the healthcare landscape by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and patient engagement. This review explores the integration of AI in clinical practice, highlighting its potential to improve patient outcomes, reduce human error, and increase operational efficiency. Drawing from a comprehensive analysis of literature indexed in PubMed/Medline, Scopus, and EMBASE, the study examines AI’s roles in disease diagnosis, therapy recommendation, and population health management, while also addressing ethical concerns, legal implications, and the continued importance of human expertise. AI’s ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns offers promising advancements in personalized medicine, mental health support, and patient education, ultimately strengthening the clinician-patient relationship. However, challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and responsible implementation remain critical to ensuring that AI enhances rather than disrupts the healthcare ecosystem.
